The Hudson Group started with traditional recruiting and executive search training. We've stayed ahead of the curve throughout the years with technology advances, valued relationships, and an extensive and ever-growing database. Our work ethic and mission to find only the best candidates has built our reputation that will serve us for many years to come.

1992 || The Hudson Group was Established

The Hudson Consulting Group was launched by Michael Gionta in 1992. As someone who wanted to improve the executive search process, Mike became a franchisee of Management Recruiters International (MRI) and quickly became a student of “the craft of executive search.”

1995 || IT Recruitment Division Established

Began division focusing on Information Technology recruitment, which built the original national recognition of The Hudson Consulting Group as a sought after and well-known recruiting specialist company.

2003 || Education Recruitment Division Established

John Assunto was brought onboard to build and manage the Education Division and under Mike’s guidance. John immediately made an impact in the EdTech, Distance Learning and Higher Education segments of the market, and became affiliated with World Bridge Partners.

2005 || Education Recruitment Division Expanded

The team rapidly expanded under John’s direction and additional focus on College, K through 12, Corporate Education, and Non-Profit Organizations was added to the recruitment portfolio.  A new corporate office space in Glastonbury, CT was chosen to accommodate the expanding staff.

2010 || Education Recruitment Becomes Primary | New CEO

Education recruiting became the primary function of The Hudson Group. The founder, Michael, moved away from day-to-day operations to pursue additional passions and named John Assunto as his successor.  John officially became owner and CEO of The Hudson Group, also dropping “Consulting” from the company name.

2013 || Joins World Bridge Partners

The Hudson Group proudly joins under Worldbridge Partners, a global leader in recruiting expertise, serving as their Education Division, consortium partner, and the New England office, continuing expansion of Education and Higher Education recruitment internationally under the direction of John Assunto, who was voted as a Managing Partner and Leader of the Education Practice.

2017 || The Office Goes Virtual

As technology made the world smaller, and our recruitment specialists became more common to live out of state, we transitioned into a fully virtual office, utilizing team and cloud software and phone systems to let technology help us improve upon our practice standards and efficiency.

2024 || Back to our Roots

After a 10-year consortium partnership, our President moves the firm forward in a new direction and operations are exclusive to The Hudson Group.  Expansion of services to a variety of industries and position specific verticals launches the firm forward with an innovative path ahead with seasoned consultants.
